Do not know what to do , I recently bought a 08 Fatboy and I do not like the original handlebar because I catch to much wind , riding on highway and I am really hanging on to them , this is very tiring after half an hour on highway ( speed + 75 mph ) I'm only 5"5' I have to spread my arms quite wide, and get into trouble wrists. I'm thinking on modify to a 12"mini ape or puting on a batwing to catch no more wind on the chest at higher speed
I'm 5'6" and had a similar problem on a Heritage. The apes kind of made my shoulders hurt. I replaced them with Extreme Reduced Reach Handlebar. They worked perfect for me and are inexpensive. I also replace the riser with a Deluxe riser.
This is the same BW on my last bike, 08 fxdc with 2 inch risers and 12" mini ape's.
I put it on my current bike, 2 inch risers and 14" apes. It's a Memphis Shades batwing. It did fit both bikes just needed to change the mounting plates only.
NO windshield I have one on my 07 RK witch is rarely on there I do not have the same problem on the RK I can easily drive 1 hr at 80mph without the windshield and without having pain in my wrist or arms
