Default Boom Audio stereo head unit

Well those regulars here that have read some threads about installing external speakers on a bike may have read how I'm not a big fan of them and prefer bluethooth helmet speakers.

My Wife asked recently what I would like for Christmas and my response was unadulterated sex and anything Harley.

Well the unadulterated sex part is yet to be known, but I just found out that for Christmas I getting a Boom Audio system.

First off my Wife always has a had a hard time deciding what to get me so I'm certainly not going to tell her to take it back so I guess I'm now going to have external speakers.

My question is for those who have such a system; I really don't want to have to plug in my iPhone everytime I ride so is there a small head unit out there that can be installed with little intrusion?

Thanks,

I have the Windshield Boom System and I just hook up my small iPod Nano. About 1" square and 2MB. Holds about 125 songs and I just clip it to the cable.

However I'm certainly not going to add another $270 to an already overpriced $400 Boom Audio system.

I'm looking for something around $50 or less that's just a head unit that the Boom Audio can plug into.

I put the Boom box on my wife's Fat Bob, I had to make a custom windshield mount but "it fit when I was done" then I just picked up from a Bicycle store on-line a handle bar mounted water proof GPS pouch, and i can fit her phone [cost zero] or any old mp3 player that still works in there.

Basically a cheap mp3 player hooked to the boom system sounds horrible. Your Iphone or a highend player is your best bet.

I've already got the Boom Audio magnetic pouch that I've been using for a couple of years.

I've always used my iPhone to my bluetooth helmet speakers and it sounds great.
I'm just thinking that perhaps there's a small head unit or even a bluetooth receiver that I can connect to the Boom Audio that will prevent me from having to connect a wire every time I get on the bike.

I think what I'll look for is something similar to what's shown in the link below.
I just have to get a 12vdc input device.

But

I got my Boom Audio installed today.

I'm not sure why some have stated it takes 5 hours to install.
I got mine installed in a 3.5 hour time frame and I was watching football at the same time.

I guess if you pull the tank it would take significant more time, but I was able to unbolt it and fish the cables through.
I think without other interferences a 2 hour install is a no brainer.

Anyway, I guess the sound is OK for a $250 system. (the unit is new that my Wife bought off craigslist).
I guess volume is more important than clarity and this unit is loud.

One last cast out to anyone who has suggestions on either a small head unit or a bluetooth receiver that I could add so I don't have to hook up my iPhone everytime I want to listen to music.

That's a transmitter and I'm looking for a receiver.
But thanks for the response.
