The kickstand you need is:

AN-11-021
Arlen Ness 1in Lowered Kickstand - Harley Davidson Softail Models ('07-newer)

How much worse is cornering with the boards than with pegs with feelers? Do the mounting brackets have a particular year range I should look for or particular models they come off stock that work better? Considering floorboards but want to save on the brackets obviously and find them used/take off if possible.

How hard is the install for the support brackets and the brake pedal? Something for a non-mechanical person to do in their own garage? I've done most of the work on my breakout outside of the initial stage 1 but it's mostly just trial and error and reading a lot here and in the service manual.

Hi Michael,
It is a very easy install, as long as you use later model brackets (2013 on) ,
you can use older bracket (07-) but the pre 2013 require the rear master cylinder to be removed of the bike, the later brackets have a cut away section on the top so you do not have to remove the rear master cylinder which makes the job very easy.

Thanks for the reply. I believe the ones I purchased to try are 2012. Should be here soon to try. Might have to figure all that out then.

If the ones I purchased do not have the cut out is it possible to cut off/out that small piece to make it a cut out? Or would it be better to find another bracket for just that side?

I just received the floorboard setup I purchased. It's from a 2012 Fat Boy from what I know and does have the cut away section so hopefully it will just bolt right up. Hopefully get time to install them this weekend and then ride some to see what I think.

Dont like floorboards .... sorry. You have got a bike with agressive style, and the floorboards are for classical bikes or old school bikes. Also, the floorboards are very ugly. Is my opinion.

That is great! If not too much trouble, can you document, with photos, the process?

And forget about floorboard-haters comments. It is all about being comfortable in your ride. I like the looks of those black floorboards on them.

I'm not worried about those who don't like floorboards. This isn't even my thread and everyone has their likes and dislikes. Just like I've said before I didn't want floorboards on MY breakout but I liked them on 24v's. They match his bike. But I tried heel rests and love the comfort of them so much I changed my mind and decided to try full floorboards. I may not like them and go back but I may love them. I'll do my best to document at least somewhat.
