Default FXSB to FXSBSE Handlebar/Riser Swap

Copyrighted image removed by moderator.

Saw others swap bars but not also swap lower bar mount and upper riser clamp.

Bored with my 2013 OEM drag bars so switching to the stock CVO breakout bars. I'm 6'2" so I didn't want to use FXSB curved risers with reduced reach CVO bars. To set it up like the CVO I had to buy the lower 1 piece riser clamp and the upper riser clamp and the reduced reach bars.

The FXSB has 2 separate lower risers and a single top mount with attached speedo cup.
The FXSBSE has a 1 piece lower riser with attached speedo cup and an upper 1 piece clamp.

I'm doing this so I can have the bars set up right above the tree same as on the FXSBSE to give me more arm room.

I've already got parts on the way. The question now is I know the speedos on the FXSB and FXSBSE are different, but are they the same diameter? I'm assuming my current FXSB speedo will fit into new FXSBSE speedo cup?

reduced reach bars #55800188 $232.
clamp, upper #55900027 $86.
clamp lower #55900026 $183.

Same diameter, in fact you can mount the combo speedo/tach on FXSB which is almost identical to stock CVO one, apart for cruise control indication I guess.
So you shouldn't have any issue.
Wasn't easier and less expensive to find some flat risers? Thunderbike produces them and I'm planning to install them either.

Thanks for reply,

I searched several lower risers but no one would verify the bolt spacing to match the FXSB top riser/speedo clamp.

Those are made specifically for Breakout and saw many pics of these risers installed on Breakout on their website. Now you already pulled the trigger on CVO parts but, just for curiosity, take a look of them.

Those TB risers are good looking and clean.

Thunderbike risers are $199. US ? shipping
It cost me $269. + free shipping for OEM CVO Risers (and attached speedo cup).
I'll probably keep my original FXSB risers and drag bars for trade in.
If not I can sell and offset cost.

I installed 254E cams several months ago, replaced the V & H Big Radius with Bassani Sweepers, and retuned with Dynojet PV2 tuner. Pulls great low and mid range. It's a good mild cam and an HD cam so no disputes. The Bassani Sweepers are a smaller diameter than the Big Radius and retained low end. The Bassani's sound like drag pipes sitting still even with the 9" baffles, but when riding they're not as loud as the Big Radius, at least from my perspective on the bike.

I could've went cheaper and installed a HD 255 cam as there are a lot of like new "take off" ones on ebay from Rushmore Bikes for $99. but the 254E keeps pulling past the point where a 255 fades out. I have 255's in my 14' FLHX, and installed them in my 09 and 12 FLHX's, they have a flat spot that's all but impossible to tune out and run hot.

I thought about swapping FXSB wheels for CVO turbine wheels, but honestly happy with FXSB wheels and get compliments on them. I would get CVO wheels if it were the deal of a lifetime.

Yep! Just installed them and I can confirm they look great. Moreover they also fit with the Blackline console having about 1/2 inch clearance.
You can find these Flat Risers on www.thunderbike.de and now they're also available in black.
Chrome ones are part number 51-72-010
