so, you have to ask yourself this: do you want this bike? is this the one that rings your bell? you and the dealer are only $695 apart. that's not much if it's the bike for you.
Found a 02 Heritage Springer with 16,000 miles. Super clean, black, looks almost new. They are asking 14,300. Seems a little high to me. Does that seem like a reasonable price for that bike.
Well, for what it is worth, I walked into a SoCal dealership and saw a 2003 Anniversary Heritage Springer with 10,000 on the odometer in almost new condition. They were asking $15995. I left without it.
I went home and looked on CL for the same bike being sold in the area and found two and compared the mileage and what they had to offer with the one at the dealership. Then, called the dealership and told them what I had found and expressed that I could buy one of these two for less. They lowered the price over the phone considerably.
Regardless, if you love the bike, don't let it slip away. The bike rides like you wouldn't believe. I LOVE my Springer and you will too! That's a bet!
Wow I think I stole m 02 Springer which I bought a year ago for $9500. Yes it had 46k miles but so many extras including fender rails, fender bibs, original windshield bag, cheese grater, wired for satellite radio with receiver and HD Boom speakers, seat rails, boot guardrail, tool box, back rest, sissy bar and a whole load of other extra chrome.
There's a used bike dealer in Ft Lauderdale called VTwin City that seems to locate and buy up Springers. Might be worth contacting them.
They will not budge on their asking price. Kind of surprised, but the bike is beautiful so I guess I understand. I did ride it and it rode great.
If it were me and all I thought about was how much I wanted that particular bike and I had the means to purchase without regrets I would end up with it.
