Default Kuryakyn Tech Support = Toolz

I wasn't going to waste the space with this post but I just have to say, I am getting sick and tired with what appears to be the 'industry standard' with all of this bike $***. I know it is my fault for not doing the work myself. Truth is I would, but I am either in a hotel room or on a plane heading for a hotel room most of the year. So I have to farm out my bike work to the local experts.

They guy putting my bike back together calls and tells me that the Kuryakyn Phantom Covers, purchased over a year ago, did not include a hardware kit with the parts. He has a thing about customers buying parts/accessories on their own and bringing them in for him to install. But that is a separate issue.

So I call Kuryakyn tech support just to see if they offer the hardware kit separate. The guy on the other end acts like I just snatched him away from finishing his hero sandwich when he tells me he doesn't have a part number for the hardware kit. I get that. I don't expect him to just give me a bag of hardware because, at this moment, I am still unsure of where they were purchased from originally.

This is what infuriates me. The guy is trying to tell me that he doesn't have ANY COVERS BEING CALLED OUT FOR THE FLS SOFTAIL. Over and over and over again he is arguing with me that no cover they manufacture fits my bike. I tell him, "dude I am looking at your website right now and this part number says it fits my bike". Again he argues with me telling me that I am wrong. So, I ask him to go to the webpage and look where it says "Will fit FLSTF, FLSTFB, FLS, FXS and FLSTN if stock exhaust has been removed and replaced with a staggered dual or 2 into 1 system". To which he replies "oh yeah, well does your bike have that?". G()@ ****** ridiculous. I wish I could be that inept, give **** poor service, and keep my job to boot.

Wow, my experience with them is just the opposite.

I bought a pre-owned Inner Primary cover with no hardware from someone on this forum. Called their support and for like $6 they sent me an entire brand new hardware kit..

Call again and speak to someone else..

Will have to try that. Would have been happy to pay for it like you did. My luck, I will get the same @-hole.

I have had good service from them as well. I had a part that did not hold up and called before the 1 year warranty ended. They sent me a new part kit for it free of charge.

Call again and tell them the part kit was missing and ask them to send a replacement. There should be a warranty on the product.
