Default fork tube length

i am in the process of doing a FL front end swap on my 07 night train. i have ordered the stock FL trees and the lower legs for the swap, now i am on the fork tube part. i want to lower my bike about 1-2 inches from stock using progressive mono tubes but i dont know what length fork tubes to order.

I am sure there are people who have done this switch. I am looking into a set of 20.5 inch tubes

I don't know if this will help but I am pretty sure the FL tubes are 2" shorter than the FX tubes.

well it looks like 20.5 inch tubes will work perfect with a 2 inch drop. those sound really short compared to my FX tubes, i guess they have vary little rake to the front

Default 05 Night Train FL front end

I did it on my 05. Kept stock tubes. Used 2in extended slider covers.

Curious, by doing this does it reduce travel within the fork. Conversely, if you go longer, does it increase fork travel?
