Default heritage windshield

hey all, have a question regarding my still new to me 2000 flstc. it appears that the previous owner cut down the stock windshield. im measuring 15 inches from the top of the headlight to the top of the shield. dont think this is stock. i have searched many forums and cant seem to find an answer. appears that there are many different sizes available, just want to know what stock is for 2000. thanks, carl

18" is pretty standard. LRS has a good price on a replacement.

I believe stock is 18 inches.
I 2nd the Long ride shield replacement ideal. I got mine when they had a sale and including shipping paid right at $75. They are great, shorter to make it easier to see over while not sacrificing any protection. I replaced my stock 18 inch with a 16 inch Long ride shield and its great.

I thought my OEM on my '03 was 20"....

I replaced it with an LRS 16" recurve and love it!!!

I'm 5'8" and hated looking through the OEM windshield. I would rarely put it on. Since I mounted the LRS 16" recurve to test it out, I haven't taken it off....!

Along these lines, how is the shorter windshield on the passenger?

My girlfriend was never on the back with the OEM windshield.

She has put a lot of miles on the back of both my Ultra Limited and my Heritage without a windshield.

She loves the LRS windshield on the Heritage. I believe it works so well because of the recurve. I know the recurve works well on my shorter Ultra windshield and suspect it works well on the Heritage.

She tells me the Heritage isn't as protected as the Ultra, but it's a good combination of wind & protection. She never liked going too far on the freeway without the windshield, but now she doesn't mind a freeway run at all....

The detachable king size Heritage windshield is 20" high. At least mine was. 16 years ago it was the perfect height for me, now it seems about an inch too tall.

At 62, I seem to have lost an inch of height along the way. Either that, or the seat has settled.
