Thankful to be alive
With the factory high-low beam switch set to low, the headlight operates normally. When set to high-beam, the headlight flashes continuously during daylight. So you can easily turn the flashing function on and off as you see fit. I generally don't use the flashing function when I'm riding with a group, unless I happen to be at the front.
After dusk, a light sensor automatically changes the operation back to conventional low and high beam operation, with no flashing. This automatic change is required by law.
Installation is plug-and-play, all inside the headlight bucket, with the exception that the light sensor needs to be mounted somewhere outside the headlight housing so it can read the light level. One can drill a hole in the headlight housing and mount the sensor in a supplied grommet, but what most of us do is run the sensor wire outside the housing using an existing hole, and just zip-tie the sensor to the wiring loom somewhere around the top of the trees.
The ones I'm using are the Kisan Pathblazer, about a hundred bucks. Other brands may be better or worse... the Kisan is the only one I happen to have personal experience with.
