Hello, I want to replace the stock leather tank bib (between my seat and the console) with something metal or even sturdy plastic that I can paint black. The only think I have found so far is the "Bikers Choice Tank Panel 482565" (linked:
This is the cheaper HD panel that I have painted the inserts black to match the upper stock console. I found that when you paint the textured part, it will still stay textured, somewhat. I put a zillion coats of black on and still kinda textured. looks ok though.
I'm trying to do this too...had my console powder coated black and want a black metal bib to match. Cocky...is that Harley piece plastic or metal? If it's metal think I'm gonna pick one up and have them blast and powder coat it.
I actually dont remember, but Im 99% sure its chrome plated plastic. I would suspect the more expensive one is metal, but im sure someone will chime in.
