I have one of those passenger seats with the suction cup for temporary use. Have not used it yet. Figure when I do the fender paint will probably still get scratched one way or another.
Thought maybe some plastic film on the fender, plan to put the suction cup passenger seat on there only occasionally.
But I noticed some people run kind of thick bibs. Are those bibs used as a make shift seat?
Gommee, is the film precut for the fender or do buy it and cut it to shape yourself?
Thanks
For the 2014 Fat Boy Lo, HD sells it pre-made as a part.
The place that I get the 3M installed on my vehicles will custom cut and install it on bike fenders or fairings. It is not an overly difficult procedure, but they will do it while I wait and make it look nicer than my attempts.
I think their custom cut looks better than the HD pre-made.
As stated above, you can either order from eBay or go to one of the places that installs the 3M and buy it by the foot and cut it yourself. There are lots of options and colors
available.
What do you have for a bike?

I think the primary purpose of a fender bib is aesthetics- but some people also use them to sit luggage on top of the fender without having to worry about it moving and scratching the paint. I don't know anyone who'd want to ride directly on a fender (with or without a bib) for more than a hundred yards or the first bump.
Yeah kind of a dumb question but I thought maybe it was common that the bibs look cool, protects your fender when strapping something on and the occasional 4 mile ride with passenger.
I really prefer the look of the Slim with nothing on the fender.
Moving from a RK I figured I was used to have luggage space that I would need more than just a swing arm bag. So I put a Motherwell luggage rack on there. But I noticed after a few weeks that being I am not doing any long rides just scooting around town that the rack was not really needed. Never liked the way it looked too much either. If my bike was black it would probably blend in better.
But now that weather is finally better I figure I will occasionally make use of the suction cup seat. But I am pretty sure the fender paint will still get scratched, sounds like the 3m
plastic sheet will be next.
