what do you guys do to protect the Transmission cap (the one with the hex head bolt and the dipstick) from getting chewed up when installing and removing.
I tried to get a Hex Head socket on it and a torque wrench to torque to the correct spec and could get all the socket seated and still fit the torque wrench. well it mess up the hex socket head slightly and looks like crap now. Ordered a new one today
saw online someone makes a thumbscrew type cap with dipstick replacement. anyone have one of those?
or suggestions on how not to jack up the hex head on the transmission cap?
I pulled out the Synth 3 from my 1000 mile change out (had only about 200 miles on it) and already was looking thick. Put in Mobile 1 70-90 syth gear oil instead. slightly quieter transmission noise now. so pretty happy with the change out.
I just use a ball end hand wrench and only hand tighten it. It doesn't take much to keep it in there, and periodic checks are all that's needed to make sure its still tight. Its nevercome loose on me yet.
