My '14 with the 103" used to get a LOT hotter than the 96" until I did the full stage one.

From your post, I'm not sure I understand your main concern. Is it the EITMS coming on? Or is you leg frying? Or just concern for the motor in general. You can shut the EITMS off by turning on the ignition (without starting it), and rolling the throttle forward and holding it there for a few seconds. Should get a light flashing on your dash/speedo. At least so, with the touring bikes. Not positive on the set-up for the softtails. Check your manual and it should explain it. For the fried leg syndrome, Crotch Cooler from Captain Itch will solve that part of it. For just the hot motor, pull to the side of the road, in the shade, and shut it down until traffic clears up.
cat is in the head pipes, looks like you put on V&H power duels, look down into your old pipes you will see the cat.

His Heritage has two head pipes, and two mufflers. Not connected. Kind of like a Sportster. I believe the cats will be in the mufflers, not the head pipes.

To my knowledge, all air-cooled cycles run hot when standing still or in slow traffic in high ambient temps, and the bigger the motor the more heat it will give off.
Yes you are correct of course, it's just that this model, my 3rd in 25 years becomes unacceptably hot for rider and pillion. Will seek a solution. Wards parts FCS cooling fans may be the answer.

Just remember that a fans are not designed to cool the rider, they designed to cool the engine. The heat doesn't magically go away, it is just moved.

Want to guess where?

Just an idea and not sure if it will solve your problem or not but we have a sponsor here named Capt. Itch and he makes what is called a Crotch Cooler. It's one way of lessening the heat that is felt from your hot engine, maybe that would be worth looking into also.

Yeah, what makes the OP think it's overheating? Are the inner thighs gettin' too warm or something? If so, there can be a multitude of causes for that, including excessive friction during related recreational activities. There are products to alleviate these problems.... various Harley and aftermarket lubes.

How was the ecm remapped? An HD flash(useless)
or a real tuner? Yor stock cam has no overlap, the Andrews 26 would help ,as would some low restriction mufflers. And yes a Jagg 6 row cooler will help.
