I am going to order a 5 3/4 inch by 9 inch billet headlight for my bike.....suddenly dawned on me to find out what kind of install challenges this might present?
I am going with one from Eastern Performance Accessories Unlimited is the brand or an Adjure.
What is involved with the install from a wiring stand point? Worse comes to worse I can cut and splice but I'd rather have plug and play.
plug and play is not going to work in this situation. the obsticale to overcome is the mount braket on the assembly itself. where it will sit in relation to the stock unit. when i installed the one on my sofetail standard i had to re position my mount. This pushed the unit out so that it would clear theneck on the bike and allow it to be positioned correctly. With that said you will need to getblack shrink rap to cover everything when you are done so that it looks stock. You will have to solder all the connectionsand heat shrink rap them as well. This can be done but you must plan it out and by all means take your time.
I put a light from Eastern on my bike about a month ago. There were two wires coming out of the light for three wires on the harness I had to splice. I had to figure that out, but it was all okay after that. Just seal up the wires and it's good to go. Eastern also had an offset mounting block for something like $10 I had to get. It was pretty easy to do.
