BTW it's not a stretch to get an occasional bad tire or have hidden damage inside a tire. Thinking back I had something similar with an R1 sport bike, the front tire had an internal break in the sidewall bead belting that was causing wobble at speed. the damage was only evident from looking at the inside of tire. the outside of tire appeared normal.
Thanks. It's actually been doing this since last season, and since then I changed tires from Dunlop to Metzeler front & rear, so I'm pretty sure that's not it.

I first noticed it after changing to apes, however I did that over the winter the first year I had the bike and had never gotten the thing up to 85-90 with drag bars. I bought the bike from a friend, and he reports never having that issue with the drags on it.
No, I've never taken the fender off. I never thought of that, but it's worth a shot.
I have 16's on my Slim and get it at 80+ speeds. I pushed both hands forward to take the added pressure off the grips and the wobble goes away. Same thing happened when I put apes on my Iron.

Could be. You never see race bikes with apes, and rarely anything seriously fast.

You think I should roll my bars forward more??? Where they are right now gives me a good riding position.
definitely worth checking your front and rear wheel alignment (parallelism) . swingarm bearings ? . measure from center of swingarm axle to center of rear wheel axle for positive alignment . don't rely on just the rear adjusters . out of line wheels can cause weaving and high speed instability or wobble.
drop that front tire pressure to 30 and give it a go. Tires like to 'expand in circumference' when increasing in speed your front tire is doing this and as speed increases, so does your tire diameter. If you lower the pressure a bit, you should be able to get to a greater speed before encountering the wobble.
