Puts lots of Ape Hangers on different models but this time it's 36" wide Beach Bars on the DeLuxe, usual question, what's the chance the stock brake and clutch will work? I have a spare set of 4" wire extensions handy from my FatBoy if needed, just was hoping I could get away with stock clutch and brake lines. Anyone mount 36" wide bars using the stock lines on an '11 or newer DeLUxe??
On my 2010 I used the shortest risers (1") and all my stock wires and cables brake line worked no problem. I did not internal wire them. Drilled holes on the bottom and used the factory style push in plastic wire holders. If I had used any higher risers it would not have worked. Pic is the only one I have on this computer can't see much but a good excuse to be a pic *****.

I was hoping to use the stock risers, I can see where using the lower risers would make up the difference in length. I hope the pull back difference in the bars would help as well.
Badbagger are you talkin about the stock risers and cables etc?? I may change them out as I have an extended set of cables and lines from my FatBoy from putting 12" apes on it. I used the clutch cable on my Road King bars, wasn't supposed to fit but it did with a bit of massage at the clutch lever.
Yes, I am talking about the stock deluxe cables, I may want to switch my Heritage to the Deluxe bars. My wife had it done and I like the riding position.
Oh ok, I'm in the ordering stage now, just ordered my bars. Turns out the bars may require a Heritage clutch cable. Go figure, we may be able to swap stuff out
Carlini freeway bars, you may want to take a peak at those. Swapped stock on my fatboy with no problem as long as you stay with 1-1.5" riser and not go for height. The 1 1/12" bars look really sick and have a nice stance and handling.
Ordered the Burly Beach bar in 1.25 inches. I'll mock them up and determine if I need to change risers. I hate changin the clutch cable only because you gotta pull the exhaust usually to get the clutch release cover off. According to the secret book Harley dealers have the match bars and cable to bikes, I may hafta use a stock cable from a Heritage. It's just 2" longer.
