I have never had an exhaust other than stock because although I love the rumble on my friends bikes i have been hesitant to swap out. I am considering replacing stock now and would like a recommendation for something that has a nice throaty sound but is not overly loud. Want to keep it reasonable.
Also this means i need to be rejetted and i woould gain some HP?
Have a Fat boy lo wondering what might look good on it since it is mostly blacked out.
Open to suggestiosn please or a particular brand to browse.
I have a Bassani 2:1, it is a loud rumble being short, but I did not want a long pipe. They make longer ones that are not as loud. I am very happy with my decision.
You have to look at all the manufacturers to see what you want your bike to look like and decide what your vision is.
Vance & Hines Pro Pipe 2 into 1. I think you can get them in black now.
I believe you can get them in Black. I was looking at the V&H as well, but for me it was too long for the look I was trying to achieve. They are a great pipe as well.
Someone mentioned slip ons. These would change the sound but not drastically depending on what they were and not require the whole exhaust system to be replaced, correct?

You are correct, I had V&H twin slash slip-ons on my 07 Street Bob and they were sweet. A real low deep rumble. Louder than stock and more affordable than a complete exhaust.
Bassani makes one with in the Mega Style System with Black Fluted End Caps. P/N1S12RB
We have the Bassani Road Rage 2-1 with the long can. It has that deep rumble when on the throttle and quiet when cruising so you don't have that "After ride ringing in the ears".
Here are two videos of our bike.
The first one I did, and NO those are not my painted toe nails... lol
And the second one is from the Bassani web site of our bike.
