Default Cleaning Jugs/Engine

Good Day all, I have a simple but difficult question, what is the best thing/cleaner to use on a silver color motor/jugs? My engine is not black and I seep oil out of the rocker boxes. Sorry I don't have a picture but I can text you one if you would like to see.

Thanks Memo

I would think that Simple Green and a little soft bristled brush would work well for your situation. If it was me, I would get your leak fixed.

I use Simple Green Extreme Aircraft Cleaner, but not for cleaning a leaking engine, for that... I fix the leak...

+2 on Simple Green and a toothbrush.

+2 on fixing the leak.

Don't forget to clean your wife's toothbrush before you put it back.

I won't recommend it to anyone else but my silver motor looked so bad (peeling and stained after 100,000 miles,) that I used my wife's oven cleaner on it out of desperation. Surprisingly perhaps, it came out very well, clean and stripped to the actual aluminum. Now any conventional cleaner keeps it nice.

Scrubbing bubbles foaming bathroom cleaner. Spray on leave sit for about 5 minutes then rinse off. If it needs more just repeat these 2 steps, works great

Thanks for the replies guys, its not a leak where its oozing out, it is just the gaskets wearing out for the rocker covers. I have tightened the bolts before but I need to replace the gaskets. I do ride it daily and also have around 40,000 miles on her with no mechanical work done to engine at all. Thanks again guys

Worst part of changing those gaskets is taking the tank off.
