Pull tanks, carb and its pretty much by the book taking the top end down. Depending on miles on your top end, you might have to rehone cylinders or jump a size on the pistons and rings.
Other than a torc wrench and a piston ring tool, it's just your normal shop tools.
Make sure you have ther service manual...MoCo one and not Haynes or Chiltons.
Gaskets come down to personal taste. James and Cometic are the 2 best IMO anyway. I like Cometic and use them for my Pans Shovels and Evos. Cometic uses a bit difference final torque but it is listed in the instructions.
