Default Advice on a windshield

Good day guys,

It's going to be a quick detach for sure. Fairly modified bike by previous owner. What would you guys think between a batwing fairing or a more traditional windshield?

Also if you know of any brands you'd suggest to buy or not to buy it would be appreciated.

Thanks,

For safety, be sure it's polycarbonate...not acrylic.

If you want a traditional windshield I would go with a Memphis Shades 'Memphis Fat', pick your height and flavor, . If you want a smaller shield just to take the wind off your chest and not be so big and obtrusive, I would go with a Windvest 14"x14".

Batwing takes away from the immediate road visibility but looks damn nice if set up correctly. Windshield looks nice on my Deluxe but it will be history when I swap handlebars. Guess the next thng is where are you going with your scoot, custom, retro?

I have three sheilds, q detach, bwing and smaller curved shield. Bwing is great for winter and faster cruising, keeps wind off your hands, arms, face and chest. The bwing does not prevent you from seeing anything on the road either. Q detach shield that is just below nose above chin, I like to look over shields not through them, provides very good protection also for face and chest. I also have a short shield, it does a good job of keeping wind off chest, less off face.

I have the HD nostalgic 18" detachable windshield and its my first windshield on a bike. I like it a lot, but its off right now due to 100 degree days.

Thanks for the advice guys. Decided to go with an clear HD windshield. With the delivery time of the batwing and the time it would have take to get it painted, summer would have been over. Doesn't look too bad and it's quick detach for the short trips around town.

Keep on rollin'
