Default Bought a 2011 Heritage with couple quick questions

Bought a 2011 with 3500 miles, this is my first Harley after 20 years of crotch rockets and couple metric bikes and a victory. Is there anything to keep any eye out for on this year? The stock exhaust is way to quiet. I've pretty much emptied my bike fund on the purchase so I'm looking for suggestions on cheap slip ons that sound nice but not obnoxious? I saw some "full bore" 2" baffled ones for around $215? Will my efi adjust enough for slip ons, I will be babying this bike if it matters. Thought about gutting stock but I'm thinking it will be really loud and not sure if it will be hard on them without back pressure from gutting them? Any other suggestions related to my bike would be appreciated. I picked it up and drove it home 230 miles, it was a good day!

Congrats on the bike... as far as your ECM it will be fine with just slip-ons but if and when you decide to change your air cleaner , then you should tune it!!!! You will be getting a lot of decel popping when you add the slip-ons. Good luck with you bike I'm sure you will love the heritage...swifty

Here's a pic with the windshield off. I think the color was Merlo/black it's like a rootbeer metal flake. I was thinking the first investment might be slip ons, but I don't want a bunch of popping on decel so I guess I'll wait until I can pick up a programmer at the same time. If it's just a little I'll be ok with it but I don't want a ton.

I want some type of QD mount for the saddle bags. I've been doing some searching and it looks like there's a few styles to pick from. Leaning towards the EZ brackets right now, but would be interested in whatever is cheapest that works good.

The handlebars really put a kink in my back between my shoulder blades. I'm assuming they are stock, looks like 12" mini apes with 2" risers. After 200 miles yesterday my upper back was really sore so I rotated them back about an inch and I'll see if that helps. I definitely will swap out bars with something I can run the wiring internal, probably thicker too. Is there enough slack to run the bars internally on the same height as stock if I buy different bars? I thought about just drilling the stock ones, I've done it in the past on other bikes.

The passenger's seat really pushes into my lower back, I can live with it but it's uncomfortable. I'm still on a budget is there any other options for comfortable passengers seats I can use with the stock driver's seat that maybe goes up instead of the "lip" sticking out so much? Long term I'm going to be buying a tan leather two up seat and saddle bags. I think they would look awesome with my Merlo color. On second thought do you think a driver's backrest would work to keep me forward from the lip or push the lip back?

I was pleasantly surprised with the little "cruise control" wheel on the throttle. I thought it would be a joke, but for giving my throttle hand a couple minute rest it worked perfectly.

I'm coming off a 2014 Victory Cross Country which honestly was a great bike. It was really fast with the stage one and 106", the air shocks and seat were great, but the wind buffeting was terrible. I tried three different windshields on the fairing but no help. It sounds like the angular design and really long tank just create too much turbulence, only cure was lowers or big fork mounted lowers. I finally just decided to pull the trigger on a Harley. I noticed immediately on the way home the buffeting was WAY better and the stock windscreen is too low for me at 6'1".

I wanted to give a big thumbs up to Eric at Wolverine Harley here in Michigan. As far as dealerships go, you will NOT find a better one. It was the most professional purchase I've made including cars, boats, etc.

When I purchased my 2010 Heritage I went with rush slip on, gave it a better sound than stock mufflers. As for the quick release bags, I did cyclevision bare backs. I didn't care for the mounts, it was an effort to remove the bags. It wasn't as easy as they say. I changed my seat to a Mustang Vintage with backrest. I got to have a backrest so I don't slouch. I've had Mustang seats on several of my previous Harleys and have had great success with comfort. I still have the stock handlebars but was going to switch to the Deluxe bars. I did that conversion on my wife's Heritage and liked feel of the bars. I did use the deluxe cables and brake line though you could get away with the stock Heritage cables.
But my ride has changed since I purchased it. I got HogDeluxe springer bags, installed V&H true duals, did some pinstriping, add front fender light, freight train nacelle, and added a 21" front wheel. Love the Heritage ole skool look...

Wow that's really sharp! I just installed my luggage rack, what a pain. I couldn't get to the bottom bolt on the backrest so had to remove the entire brackets, install the rack, then re-install. I was thinking it was going to be a quick bolt on of the rack but turned into a half hour project. Did you get a ton of popping with the rush mufflers or just a little?

Didn't have much popping, not like my V&H, and I even have their fuel management system.

My bike has 13" apes stock, can I fit 14" on stock lines and cables? Will I need to extend the wiring if running internally?
