Default Need some ideas for carrying my crap!

I recently picked up an 09 crossbones with the samson upswepts exhaust and detachable sissy bar. It's my first harley and I'm on it every chance I get. My problem has been finding a good way to carry my stuff without going full on saddlebags (which isn't an option with the upswepts) or wearing a backpack. I've tried a backpack and lost feeling in my arms cause the damn thing cut into me. And strapping it to the sissy bar worked but made me nervous. I've only found a few sissy bar backpacks that look decent and they're all running well over a hundred bucks. I'm curious to see if anyone has ideas for running a bigger single bag on the left of the bike or some recommendations on an old school looking sissy bar bag. Was thinking something loose on the side like a messenger bag or some kind of rucksack on the sissy bar. Show me what your running! Thanks in advance!

When it comes to hauling stuff around on the bike. What ever works works. I never gave much thought as to how it looked. An old duffle bag or bed roll strapped to a sissy bar or handlebars worked for me for 37 years.

Welcome to the Forum from Colorado!

I just run a Rapid Transit sissy bar backpack with a couple small bungees to help hold it down. Works as my lunchbox/carryall. About $120. Swingarm bags aren't big enough to hold the stuff I carry and aren't easily removed.

solo swingers bag and fork mounted tool bag. between the two you should be able to carry a bunch of stuff.

cargo pants ...I bought me one them swingarm bags and its a few months old and it has a hole in it already from draggin the ground when I turn left. Doesnt hold much more than a thin ham sammisch and a fruit pie. more pockets...I found back packs to be uncomfortable also and not an option I just stuff my pockets with what little stuff I might need.

I want some REAL saddlebags made for horses to toss over the rear fender..
these are 87 bucks

QC do you have any pics of that backpack in action? It's just a little under price on the harley sissy bar backpack but it was theasy next one I was looking at. The swing arm bags are definitely too little for me and I'd ultimately like to have something close to grab and go. I work long shifts at a refinery and I usually have stuff besides my usual gear. Kinda wanted something that fit my bike but I've yet to see any old school backpacks that could do what I want them to do without strapping them down every time.

I had a TBAG strapped to my sissybar on my old fxdl and it held everything I needed. Eventually I ended up with saddlebags. TBAG's are good products.

Get a hot chick to ride bitch and buy her the "biggest" purse imagineable = problem solved!

JK, if you don't like the bagger/saddlebag look, large swingarm + sm rear & bar/fork bags are your only options. Do some searching and see what fits your bill...

I was surprised to find the other day that WalMart has a waterproof sissy bar backpack for 35 bucks...they have a little section of motorcycle stuff in the auto area and they should be in there

probably not as great as a nicer bag but for 35 bucks I'd say try it out first

Hell yeah that'll work! Beats the hell out of the 150 bucks for harleys version and its still cheaper than the canvas bags I was about to try. Still wouldn't mind finding a bigger left side bag to keep on the bike. I saw westeagle had a few but damn theyre high.
