I bought a new breakout last month I'm looking at putting on a set of the v&h big radious pipes but do I need the fuel pack or not
I have heard yes and no
Some guys tell me the the computer on the bike will Re calibrate it's self and I've also heard I need to tuner anyone have any ideas
my personal opinion is that it has to do with the way you ride. if you are at full throttle a lot and constantly accelerating hard then it is always better to be tuned for it. but if you are cruising most of the time the computer is running off the o2 sensors and not off a pre determined map. plus if you are only doing the exhaust then it isn't that bad.
i only have exhaust and the bike runs fine. only time i hear the "popping" is on very hard decal going downhill.
the factory ECM will be able to compensate for just a set of pipes, although it has it's limits and a tuner will be able to get a more optimal A/F ratio across the entire RPM range and you'll have a better running and performing bike with a tuner and correct tuning.
I'd suggest checking out the Dynojet power vision tuner, very nice tuner and offers auto tuning that works pretty well.
I ran mine for a month without a tuner. It ran fine, popped some. Ran alot better after I put in the Fuelpak. You will eventually get a tuner, it just makes the bike run better with the exhaust.

Bought my 15 BO 3 weeks ago. I put 3" Cobra slip on's a week later. I had decel pop pretty bad.
I installed a V&H FP3 yesterday and finally went on a long ride today. Decel pop is 100% gone and the bike is completely different. Granted I only have 75 miles on it; but I could tell an immediate difference from the stock (EPA lean tune), to the FP3 map. Bike is freaking awesome. Smooth acceleration, more power, etc...
I recently put the freedom performance amendment exhaust system on my breakout and other than the deceleration popping it runs fine. I had ordered a power commander but sent it back for the power vision after I found out the rear wheel had to be removed to install the power commander
Okay
Thanks for all the info guys I'm going to order the pipes today and then I'll order the fuel pack maybe I can get some ot this weekend and buy it next week lol
