Never heard of that happening before, but I guess no of the thousands post their trouble free parts but the second there's a problem it's posted on every page across the web possible so I'm not too worried about it.

I really only use front brakes. Thinking this 13" ceramic rotor and 6 piston PM caliper I have for the bike already should do the trick

Thanks man. Inlines run inline with your neck, offset the legs are pushed forward. Modern factory Harley springers are offset, and decrease the rake so you get the shorter snubbed up look like on the x-bones and what not. In lines will hit the bars on your factory 5g softail tank unless you do some modding, get forward pushed risers or change tank all together. But, with the range of springers out there, there's so much more to springers then just that so do a bit of research first. Hope that helps

And thank you Tom for the heads up, I will keep an eye on mine. I know a reputable bike builder over here who regular users exiles sprotors with never a hassle or problem for as long as exiles been selling them. Pretty much the reason I was happy to give them a go

Yeah I would think you stop just fine with that...the front wheel in the pic looked like a spool that was not able to mount a front brake. I run a sprotor myself...not an exile, but it could fail in the same way.

Ah yeah, that was the "mistake" wheel. They're making another one with the rotor flange on it. Another reason I went the exile is the sprocket runs a little smaller in diameter then the PM and as I run a 15" rear wheel to me it just worked visually a little better. I figured I didn't need a lot of stopping power in the rear with that brake up front. Had too many slides in the past being lazy and using only rear brakes, so I rarely use it any more, it's not a good feeling

Tom I just googled exile brake fails. The 3 incidents I found ranged from 2005-2011. All using the old brake caliper version and sproket that had the shorter Allen key style bolts. if you had to space your sproket too much, a shorter bolt will snap more easily. Maybe this is why they changed the bolts and the caliper in recent years. I can't find any incidents at all using the newer version. Maybe the problem was addressed, fingers crossed
