i have a 1992 heritage and its leaking oil out of the back exhaust and and first when i started it there was a whole pill of oil on the ground any answers thanks guys
The oil is changed every other year cause I don't put many miles on it
Oil breaks down over time.
I'm no expert but I believe for non-synthetic it's recommended that it be changed every 6 months or 3000 miles whichever comes first.
For synthetic I believe it's recommeneded annually or every 5000 miles.
If you've been leaving the same non-synthetic oil in for two years you might have damaged rings which is allowing oil to flow past the piston and out the exhaust.
You probably need to take it in to a mechanic and have it looked at.
Hopefully I'm wrong and you don't need a complete engine rebuilt because that cost will likely exceed the value or the bike.

Any chance that you can post photos with a wider view.
Are you looking for answers regarding the poor looking state of the oil, or the possible source of the leak?
The it blow loads of smoke out the exhaust when you got it started, did it run fairly OK?
