I have an 06 night train, and it always seems as if my legs are bent way too much and im just not stretching enough... just not as comfortable as my previous sportster with forwards...Then i spotted the Arlen Ness forward control extensions for softails....wow...it gave me an extra 3" reach and made my back 100 times more comfortable...and for 200$ its not bad either...well worth the money. They are easy to do too...no need to take it in to your dealer. just a couple hours in your garage will do....questions....post reply
I jkust picked up the same kit yesterday and installed them. Holy crap what a difference. I dont feel like a flamingo n e more when I ride as I am also 6'3. About time I got around to purchasing them. Was going to last summer but Uncle Sam decided to send me to Ghanstan instead. Take it easy
99 FXST, check my gallery out, I have an 06 Softail Standard with a few mods and I have the ness 3+ sittin on there now... Love em, nice stretch, I'm 6'2"
I installed the 3" Ness kit on my Train, but it still seemed too cramped for the long rides (6'1" with long legs). I bought some Kuryakyn hwy extenders, installed them, and ride much more comfortable now.
this picture doesnt show the ness ext....hahha you got enough pics of them....just go get some....no need for pics anyway
dont have the ness extensions on in this pic.....
I've been trying to understand this...I bought my Softail used with a bunch of upgrades so I'm not sure what's a stock configuration and what's not. Doesn't the Softail already come with forward controls? Do the Ness' actually bring the positions forward even more? I'd sure like another 3" unless I've already gone as far as I can. How can I tell if the previous owner already installed a forward control extension kit of some sort? TIA
post a good zoomed in pic and we can tell ya. From the looks of your bike there in your signature pic, they look stock. To answer your question, yes they do come with forward controls, compated to the ones that sit right under your ***... but, yes the ness 3+ kit put them out a little further and alot more comfortable if you're over 6' or so...
