I bought my 95 FXSTC used and am trying to set things up to my liking. Put 10" mini apes and am trying to get the push pull cable adjusted. Believe it or not, I have too much slack on both sides! I never rode it prior to removing the bullhorn bars so I have nothing to compare it too.
Im getting about a half inch of slop before I engage. Is this too much? Ive adjusted the throttle completely out and the PULL/return is pulled completely in (with the jam nut adj)
this is my first bike and I dont really have much to compare it too, but the vids I saw make it seem like its too much slop
Did you try going to Dennis Kirk and putting in your bike? You can then search under cables and it should list your factory length. This is what I did when I changed mine to longer cables for my taller bars, I had to do a +6.
