Default Tribal mirrors stems to short

got the tribal mirrors for the breakout and the stems are to short, especially on the left side. Put on the washers supplied in the box and there isn't very much thread to bite onto. The mirrors won't tighten at all. Put the stock ones back on, which have a longer stem and they tightened right up.

Very aggravated and disappointed Harley made the stems much shorter than the stock ones.

Strange, take them back and ask to compare with another set.

I have the black ones on my Lo and had chrome ones on my Street Bob. No issues with either.

Ran them on my '05 FB and have them on my '14 Deluxe, no issues. As suggested earlier, compare them with another set at the dealer. Maybe you got a lemon.

Okay, so did you guys put a washer at the base of the mirror prior to sliding them threw? I use the stock lock washer from the original mirrors right?

I keep tightening the acorn bolt. Instructions say 12 ft-lbs. I'm afraid of stripping ****.

At first I put some extensions I bought off of ebay but didn't like them. I went to the dealer and bought the long tapered ones. They work a little better than stock.
