Unless you can find actual facts or conclusive evidence to support that the 2016 heritage and 2016 deluxe are essentially the same bike even though the deluxe is 1200 dollars more I will continue to conclude the heritage is of lesser value and that Harleys in general is of lesser value and quality do to recalls and such. Harley is more interested in profits than their customers and workers. I understand as a Harley apologist you disagree. My wife and I have discussed it and she loves Harley as well but we decided we will not be purchasing any new Harleys. We will keep what we have and in a few years purchase a third motorcycle from a different brand.

Default 2016 Deluxe vs Heritage MSRP

So what do you suppose is not the same between the Heritage and Deluxe? The engine? Transmission? Frame? What?

looking at the specs and pricing on the harley web site, cruise and security are standard on the deluxe and are a option on the heritage.I think that's the difference in the price.

That is exactly what I was wondering as well, certainly some small parts are different but not anything major.

Right. They are the same bike except for a few bolt on items.

What year is your corvette?

The cruise is standard on the Heritage and the security is $395. The Heritage also comes with bags and a windshield. There are lots of minor differences (lights, ground clearance, seats), but they are fundamentally the same bikes. Ron

Harley deselected the Australian maker because they were not meeting specs and their chrome was flaking off. Many posts with complaints in the past few years on this forum about the issue.

HD sets the specs and standards just like Caterpillar who outsources the entire world for parts as does Mercedes Benz. A part made anywhere in the world must meet all specs or they don't get the business.

Any plant in the world can make quality. Only a bigot would think otherwise.

I was in management at Caterpillar. A part from India, China, Japan, France or where ever met spec's or it was scraped along with the contractor.

I posted a link to where Harley said they would not discount any models to compete with the Japanese discounting their motorcycles by up to 25% because of the stronger U.S. Dollar. They said it would hurt profits, I quote. Every other assumption isn't based on anything Harley has done or said in the past. I have no vested interests in Harley so I don't care who buys what.

I am simply speaking from a hard working middle class American perspective that Harley stated they would not discount their motorcycles so I conclude a lower price equals lower quality because Harley stated they wanted to increase profits and that is why they wouldn't discount their motorcycles. If anyone has any other factual information I would love to hear it otherwise I am going to go on what Harley officially said.
Supply and demand. The Deluxe is probably one the best sellers while the Heritage is for us Old School guys. They can charge more for a hot item.

Sadly the Corvette's are gone, had a 66 427 4-speed car and a very modified 09 Z51, they were fun but the recession forced me to sell some time ago.
