The heritage, fatboy, and slim are all 1000 dollars lower than last year and they are now throttle by wire with cruise control. Just about every other bike is up 200 or so. The deluxe is up 500. What gives? Are they just playing with the numbers to see if they sell more bikes or what???
The fatboy and slim both have an "S" model now with the 110, so I bet they are trying to make the gap between the normal and "S" models in retail. If they kept their pricing the same most buyers would probably go for the "s" models. Now they divided them buy 4 grand. Harley has been trying to grab the younger demo for a while and according to the quarterly reports the slim and fatboy seem to sell better to the 20-30 age bracket, by lowering the price they might grab even more riders in that age bracket.
As far as the heritage is beats the hell outta me.
Again this is just a guess. Though nothing makes me happier as a slim owner knowing that my bike has now been devalued, as mine didn't come standard with cruise control, and now with the addition of the 110 version I am sure over the next couple of years as a look to trade in dealers with probably low ball the living hell out of me.
