You should have just picked up a detachable rack. I have the detachable backrest/rack and a detachable rack. I use the rack when one up and backrest rack when the wife is with me. It would have saved you some $ and time.

Nice, I was not sure if you were going to put the sissy bar on at a later date. I just figured you were looking for just a detachable rack.
I went with both racks for the one or two up riding. Just having the rack has been a great add on to strap larger objects to that did not fit in the bags. I am not partial to the sissy bar/rack on all of the time.
well i did get the docking hardware this weekend. i installed the hardware and put the rack on. looks like the sissybar part is a must. the rack is not very rigid and i think that flex is due to the sissybar not being there. so i just need to pick one up at some point soon so i can use all these parts.
