tuner?
Its not that deep. IMHO and this is only my opinion. The best tune and most expensive is to dyno tune your bike! But the problem with this is you have to buy a tuner like the TTS {about 500} But the real problem is its only good as the person doing the tune!!! And today there are less and less people who take pride in their work.
The next is the FP3. This is about 300 bucks shipped {from I think kutter HD. do a search on this forum}. V&h made all the maps on a dyno in house using V&H pipes. the maps are great just the way they are. And if you have V&H pipes on your bike. your nuts not to use this tuner. They are now coming out with maps for cams also.
This tuner is the easiest to use.
Next is the power vision this tuner can just about do it all. If you are going past a stage one {just pipes and air cleaner] then I would seriously look at this tuner. They have a lot of maps for just about every stage you can think of. And the customer support from fuelmoto, If you buy it from them is second to none. This tuner can also be purchased if you tell them as you ordering it with your map pre loaded. so all you have to do is flash your bike with it when you get it.
I have the FP3 I bought it because I am not going past stage one. And I have always use v&H pipes { I just like them}. I'm very happy with the fp3. It took me 10 min to flash my bike. The bike runs cooler. pulls strong all the way up, and no decel popping.
The FP3 and the powervision both have videos on their web sites that show how they are used. why don't you look at them before you decide.
good luck with your bike....swifty

The best, better than the FP3, is the Power Vision. Read about it HERE, and watch the video at that link.
The Power Vision is the most powerful tuner there is, and super easy to use...just as easy, if not more, than the FP3.
If you want to continue reading about all the choices, the thread below is an overview of the most popular tuners.

I'm not into doing engine work, so I won't be doing anything more than an open air cleaner and pipes. but I will look at all the video's that I can.. Just bought the bike and rode it home. it had 750 miles on it, now it has 890. going to change the seat, but the ride was so much better than my '08 superglide. will have pictures later

For budget (around $100), that will deliver a solid improvement on a Stage I bike, the FL-XiED-10 or FL-ViED-10 is the best value. See details HERE.
We are a V&H dealer, but all the bikes at the shop, both biz & personal, all have Power Visions. The FP3 is a fine, middle of the road tuner, probably the top of the middle of the road, but the best (and it makes a difference, even on a Stage I bike) is only a little more.
Yes, that is all I do to my personal bikes also. The only engine mods to my softail is free flowing air cleaner, free flowing pipes and a Power Vision. (Stage I)

I think i'm gonna go with the power vision, thought about going with an arlen ness big sucker, but maybe you can convince me otherwise with something from your site for an air breather..,my other bike is on your site, you guys used my pictures of your speedo relocation on a dyna, that's my black super glide

Here is what your pistons will look like with the Big Sucker or similar after some miles.

The above occurs because almost every air cleaner is feeding hot, oily, oxygen depleted air into the combustion chambers. Besides building up deposits, it also is a performance robber. (but it does make the EPA happy)
Or, you can go with the Outlaw 587 System or Outlaw 636 System, not only will your engine run stronger, it will also last longer. No deposits built up.

And if you get the Air Cleaner and Power Vision together, at this LINK, you will save another $50.00 on top of our already everyday low prices.
yup, after i installed it, i sent the pictures to Dawn... as soon as i get the cash, i will go with that deal. it says i can pick the cover plate too?
here it is, it's now forsale as of today
wondering why no one has mentioned anything about screamin eagle, cobra or the cheap shot from arlen ness?

Recently I did a stage one on a friend's bike and he bought the Powervision from Feul Moto. It was so simple to use, everything can be done with the unit mounted on the handle bars. I actually tuned his bike while I was out running errands.
The only other tuner I would consider would be the new V&H tuner that can be used with a smart phone. I have not done my research on this one nor do I have any direct experience with it so I don't have an opinion
I would never use anything other than a flash type tuner because I believe a properly programmed map is far better than any device that sits between the ECM and the engine and changes values before the ECM process the information.
