Does cooler weather really enhance engine performance?
I save up all my summer ride gopro vids for editing and enjoying during winter too.
It would be 3.3% but who is really counting.
My appeal to cold weather riding is that I don't have to scrape bugs off the front end of my bike after a ride. Also I'm so bundled that I have my own cushion of additional protection.
My carbed EVO use to really run smooth and strong whenever it was cold out. I'll have to test my EFI 103 to see if there is a difference I can feel. We are being hit with some real cold mornings now that it's fall. Not going to get any better for about 6 months ...Ugh!

Cooler air definately makes a difference. These are 10 second 1/4 mile dragboat numbers. On August 29 in 90 degree weather i ran a 10.007, 10.015, 9.967 qualifying and a 10.002 in first round eliminations. Other guy ran a 10.094 and beat me with a better reaction time. On September 20 in 78 degree weather i ran qualifying numbers of 9.790, 9.815 and 9.874 . In elimination i broke out with a 9.759 and won the round because the other guy red light. 2nd round i ran a 9.843 and won because the other boat ran a 9.819 . Third round was for the money. I ran a 9.836 and the other boat ran 10.07. I wanted to get off of it near the finish line but had the other guy by about 3 feet and didn`t. The engine is a 496 bbc in a jet boat. I`ve ran in races when the adjusted air altitude was above 4000 ft. and the same boat/same set up wouldn`t run but a 10.19 . Cooler air = increased performance.
