yeah I had a superglide with mini apes and forward controls, the oem bars on it were down and low, the reach made it difficult to turn is why I wen to apes. I just bought a 2012 fatboy lo, was gonna do apes at first, but after the test ride I liked the bars being lower. I'm gonna switch the bars to sportster tracker bars, the stock bars feel more like beach bars, talk about turning with those..yuck!

Had a Night Rod, had a Road Glide. This one is my favorite.

After being at three Harley day rides recently, I can tell you that this bike gets the most attention on looks alone. I can see the attraction to them. After test driving it, I quickly realized how one dimensional it is. Fat flat rear tire, looks cool, but makes the bike harder to lean over, making it more work to ride. Long reach to bar and pegs, put the rider in a V sitting position, that is anything but comfortable. Hopefully next year they will do an "S" version, bringing the power up to where it should be compared to others in the Harley lineup. This bike is definitely a case of form over function.

Agree, weighting the foot pegs steers this bike well. You can pretty much start any turn on any bike that way. For a quick maneuver that's the way to start it.

Me, kind of old....first Harley, 4th street bike, first street bike 30+ years ago, grew up on the MX track. When looking at bikes to buy the Wide Glide was at the top of the list, saw the Breakout there also. I went home and thought about it for a couple weeks and decided the breakout was the bike I really wanted. So I got it.

I think you either get it or you don't as far as what the bike is about. I'm not tall 5'8" and think the riding position is comfortable. The foot controls didn't seem as far forward on the BO as they did on the WG. The reach to the bars is comfortable IMO, LOL maybe I'm just used to that from former sport bikes.

I like most of the HD bikes, Sportsters, Street/Road Glides etc...

like this color, whiskey

I used to own a Kawasaki Z1000, although a little more upright it still had a lean and killed my shoulders after a day of riding. the only good part was it was fast as hell with 125hp.

I wanted one the first time I saw it...even though I don't care for the name. But I tried 3 times in '13-'14 to trade my Blackline for it but we couldn't make a deal.

Finally, in June when I got rear ended, I made my move to get one and did. It only took 2 years and a wreck for it to happen.

I got to ask, was it worth the wait?

I know what you mean about the concept. It's not your typical harley. I loved the look of it as soon as I saw it when it came out, hence why I have one. I personally don't get the Fatboy concept but then judging by how many people buy them they must be good.
