Default Torque spec for bottom fork screws; help.

Yes, I have the manual. And I have poured over it quite a bit. Bike is 2012 FLS. In the manual, on the page that shows the schematic of the front suspension, the image for the FL style bikes shows the RIGHT fork leg having two mounting studs with washers and nuts that mates the bottom "sleeve" around the axle. My bike doesn't have this. It has two allen head screws with two washers. The manual doesn't list torque specs for these, only for the nuts used with the mounting studs. I have googled my @$$ off and can't come up with anything definitive. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the info. But why in the world is the information in a 2009 manual and not in my 2012 manual. I don't understand that. Typo?

Manuals aren't always perfect but seeing as mine and QC's jive go with that figure. I always chase the threads and use a little blue lock tite.

Tommyglide can you tell me what you use to chase the threads with. I want to track that down. If it was just some arbitrary screw I probably wouldn't care. But something that holds the front axle on the bike I want to make sure that it is*100%*right. Thanks for the info.

I have a made in USA 48 piece thread restorer kit purchased from Mac Tools (Snap On has the same one). If you tinker lots and the budget allows that is an invaluable addition. To remove the axle cap screw takes a 5 mm allen but you prolly know that, and an 8 mm thread chaser to clean up the threads. I swap between 2 front wheels so I always have a extra couple of screws in case of misadventure.
