I am coming back to the softail world and trying to make a sound decision. Does anyone have any issues with the heat on the 110 motor? Got it worked out on my Street Glide but its a 103.

Actually I love the Street Glide. JRI shocks make it incredible. Im just ready to go back to something less heavy. I have a 91 Heritage that I bought new and it is a great bike. I am going to ride all the softails in the next couple of weeks to make a final decision. Im sure they are a little different than my'91!

well, I had an sg and is was great but I needed more comfort. I tried a regular fat boy, a fat boy lo, I tried a road king as a resort to riding the switchback. out of the four bikes the fat boy lo takes the turns like no other and is so comfortable that within minutes you're in the zone.

the fat boy has always been my dream bike, never thought I'd own one, were a little to much out of my price range or so I thought. never rode one, but glad I didn't til now. it's the best riding bike I've ever had, if I had rode it before hand I'd drive myself crazy wanting one. good luck!

I was wondering the same thing. I'm tempted by the S, but worried that the 110 might just run too damn hot to live through traffic/heat here in Orlando so I'm wondering if I'm better off going with a Lo so I have the HO 103.

I am only 5' 8" and the regular Fatboy works great for me. The bike is very nimble, and yet very stable at 80 MPH speeds as are common around here. Kind of an oversized Sportster on steroids.

Haven't ridden the Lo, but it looks pretty nice too. I can flat-foot the regular Fatboy so I did not go with the Lo.

Good luck with your choice. All Softails are great bikes.

I bought my Slim S a couple days after they were available. I picked it up on August 31st. The weather in Savannah is normally brutal, but hasn't been too extreme since I bought it. We did have a few 90 degree days. I ride daily and often in traffic.

So far, I had the front cylinder heat protection kick on once while waiting at a stoplight. Other than that, no issues.

I have a post style seat now, and had a spring seat for 2 months before that (and since day one), so I'm elevated with some space between me and the motor. This may make a difference compared to a normal seat, but I haven't felt extreme heat on my inner thighs.

I can't imagine the heat would be much different between a 103HO compared to the 110 anyway.

Forum member Wachuco has a Slim S and live somewhere in or around Orlando. He has a mod thread on the front page. Maybe you could ask the question in his thread.

both are great, I rode a regular fat boy and it was nice. I just felt that I sat ontop of it, with the lo I felt like I sat in it. plus I love the blacked out look. I wanted a blue bike, when I saw mine I knew that was it for me. all about preference for everyone I'm guessing.
