Default 2007 Softtail recall

I took my Heritage in for the recall this past Saturday. First, the dealer did not know about it. They looked it, and verified they had the parts.

When I went back 2 hours later they told me "everything looked good, no chafing, it did not need anything."

Now, since I am a service manager for a new car dealer, I know that we get some recalls that require inspection with no repair IF everything is good as it is. Does anyone have access to the TSB from Harley? I guess I am looking for some reassurance that my bike is OK now.

I can't find the factory recall papers, but I did manage to find the NHTSA's notice for the recall.
You can see a copy of it here if you like.

Dealer here in FL. says all vin's they have listed with the recall will get the parts replaced with a kit regardless of the present condition of the cable or caddy. Their still waiting on the parts to arrive in a "wave" shipment.

I'm looking at the bulletin right now, Safety Recall Code 0130
consists of installing a battery caddy, which includes a cable routing channel and protective shield which prevents the possibilty of contact between the positive cable and oil tank weld bead.

I think I will call HD and ask them. This makes me nervous. I would think parts would be installed to prevent as well as correct a problem.

I was at the dealer yesterday and they printed one out for me to have; they were just beginning to start recalls/repairs.

Try this; h-dnet.com/service/safetycampaignand productcampaign/safetycampaign........says it can can take you to the affected vin #'s
