Grats! Rode the Slim S (olive) at a demo event over the summer. That bike pulled hard. Be careful out there.
She does pull hard though I'm not pushing it due to the break in process. My only concern now is I'm trying to go through all the gears as often and as evenly as possible but I'm not getting many opportunities to get it into 6th gear. I just haven't hit the main highway yet to open it up a bit. Will this cause problems with breaking it in?
You'll get so many opinions on proper break in that it will make you're head spin..."ride it like you stole it", "baby it", etc, etc.
When I bought my bike new last year, I was pretty careful to not wind it out too much. Let's just say that I rode "conservatively" but I certainly did not baby it.
But, once I hit 500 miles, I began wringing it out pretty good and haven't really stopped.

Yep that's pretty much my approach so here's to getting to 500!!
Congrats, enjoy the bike and ride by yourself, not any group or even a friend.. Ride your own ride, take it easy get a good feel, a lot of crazy drivers in jersey, really all over.
Take the MSF, good refresher, and you will most likely get a reduction in your insurance. Check with your company.

Yeah good advice on the group rides....they can be trouble sometimes even for the best of riders.

All good advise and much appreciated. I've been following SLV's build for a while now, impressive work he does. I plan to ride her stock during the break in period and in March I'm going to add a set of Todd's 1.5 10 inch strip bars, a 2 into one exhaust (still not sure which way to go, Thunderheader or ??) a nice Roland Sands AC, FP3 or SE tuner and a swing arm saddle bag. Done...lol I bet they all say that...
