New Rear Tire on the Fatboy at 5000 miles!!
I took my 16 Fatboy for its 5k service today and they said the rear's tread was right down to the legal limit. Running the stock fat Dunlops. I find it incredible that I only got 5k from the rear tire, on my previous Heritages I could get 10-12k. It's not like I do burnouts every day (just kidding I never do).
Lucky I have 'Tires for Life' at the Dealership so I only had to pay for labor. I've already had the front tire exchanged when that one went wobbly but that was done under warranty. Is it the crappy Dunlops or me?

Five is what I got on my '14 also, but I think the dealer was kinda pushing it when they said it was at the legal limit. I wasn't there at the time and hadn't been paying much attention to tread depth at that mileage so I changed both. I do ride the twisties here pretty hard though, and it gave me an excuse to try the Mitch II's that I wanted, so it wasn't a real big deal to me this time. If I could just stay off the throttle more, I might get 6 or 7000!

Lauren I remember when you got that bike, what 5 months ago? I'm impressed you rode 5,000 miles already!!
I have 7700 on my D402s on my Springer and they have tons of life left. But I think the older narrow tires wear much better than your new wide beachballs.
I didn't know Chesters offered Tires for Life but that's a great deal for someone like you. How much did that option cost if I may ask?

Joe I got the bike on Aug 30th so that's 3 and a half months. I've ridden the Springer also in that time. Would have been sooner had we not had so much rain in the past month, both bikes have been mostly parked or shortish rides only.
Chesters do Tires for Life on new bikes. It doesn't cost anything but labor, but you have to have the bike serviced there. Not sure what happens on a long trip but I guess I'll figure it out next summer.

That's the weird thing, I'm not at all heavy on brakes though I do use both when braking, but I've never had to use ABS and I use engine braking more than brakes if you know what I mean. I'm also not a Joe racer much at traffic signals.
