I'll be installing my 16" wild 1 apes this week on my 2007 Heritage. I was wondering if anyone has installed these bars and what lengths they used on cables/wiring? I'm thinking plus 10" so that I would be able to change out to 18" bars in the future if I decide I want to. I had 14" bars on my street glide so I decided to go 16" for the heritage, but I'm afraid I'll eventually want to go to a 18" bar.
I just put 14" Carlini Flying Apes on my Lo and they run about 15" high. Personally I think 18's are too high.
I used the following for my cables...
Throttle & Idle Cables - 8" over stock
Clutch Cable - 8" over
ABS Front Brake Line - 8" over
My lines are all pretty good with enough slack to put some taller risers on if I want. Actually, my front ABS line is a bit too long and I'm contemplating going down to a +6" over instead. If you go with 10" over you will have plenty enough.
