Hi everyone . I was working in my bike last nite and I dropped my gasbtank😬So now I need to paint whole bike. Was wondering what everyone thought about chrome bars on a flat black bike. I just ordered the bars and they were meant for my red bike. It's going to be to expensive to do red so I'm doing black just didint know if chrome bars would look good . There 12 inch chubby apes 1 1/4 thick
Welcome and sorry to hear about the mishap. Suggestion, most all flat paints and satins are single stage and don't hold up for crap. they will streak from gas and just about anything leaves marks on the paint. I just went through all of this with my other bike and 3 separate repaints.
The ONLY paint to buy is from House of Kolor, sold by TCPGlobal. it is a legit, high end line of 2-stage flat, satin and metallic paints. and it's not expensive. super durable and always cleans nicely, not affected by gasoline- same as any other automotive quality 2-stage paint. this stuff is used by high end restoration / custom paint shops on a lot of the ol' skool cars.
TCPGlobal, order direct- or look on ebay. You want to look at the # 2109 flat black metallic. $79 per quart kit and it will do the entire bike with leftover. It is like flat black but without the dullness and looks expensive. hard to describe but it is the nicest flat black out there. http://www.tcpglobal.com/Automotive-...FU1gfgodRwIEFA
I used their # 2110 Gunmetal Gray Metallic on my Breakout, had it pinstriped, then shot it with clear. came out sweet. Hope it helps.
