Default baffles.

I have a '02 Train w/ V&H bigshots staggered. After reading the new post on pipes I was wondering what removing the baffles would do for me? Obviously louder but was more concerned with possible power loss. Also wondered if it would backfire or need remapped? -Oops, edit. Definately do not like that high popping noise i hear on some bikes when the let off gas. IMO it sounds horrible, my buddy took his baffles out of his stock pipes and it made that sound.

If its fuel infected you will have to remap. Power commander has different downloads for pipes with or without baffles.

I actually like the poping soud!

Yea I like the popping soung too. I guess it's not a pop but more of a real dry sounding, not throaty, real fast barking. Does not sound like a good, hearty pop. It's hard to explain but he doesn't like it either, he says it used to sound different but now it's disturbing to him also. Also has really robbed his performance.

I had the baffles removed for one day on my big shots and IMHO it sounded crap.It was loud but popped a lot but the note was really crackly. Not sure about power loss as it was only one day but i put the baffles back the next day.Popped a hell of a lot on deceleration as you lose back pressure.I want a good note out of my exhaust not just loud.Got the quiet baffles in now and its deep and throaty which is how i like it.
Baffles out ,not for me but each to their own....
Good luck with it.
