I currently have a 1994 springer i recntly converted to a chain drive to eliminate my belt(due to belt failure), anyhow need to know couple of different things?
1. How large of tire can i fit under my rear now?
2 how wide of a tire can i fit on a stock fatboy rim form the same 94-99 softail?
we too have a 94' springer softail ....have swapped out the 1 1/2" belt for a 1 1/8" ...changed wheel to stock 2000 and up but relaced w/ stainless spokes ..(for sealed bearings) ...and aftermarket pulley ...still the wheel is stock 3" ...about the biggest i have fitted is a 140 tire...as most 150 wants a wider wheel ...(3.5 and wider) ...just my 2 cents !!!

I have seen people put 150's on the stock rim and it just doesn't look right...if you want a much wider tire , you need a wider rim.
Depending on how you spaced the chain, the fender is probably the limit on how wide you can go.
I am running a strutless rear fender and the chain drive but my big concern is if i have to change rim size or not of i can get athe tire to stay on the rim then i should be ok.
just didnt know how large i can go and be ok?

Go look at that sportster rear tire that's beside your springer...150 on a 3" rim as OEM
