Default Weird shifting issue

So I recently did an open primary belt drive swap with a chain drive final. When I took it for a spin just to test it,aside from my gear indicator not working right, when I put it into 1st to take off,it makes NO noise. No clunk like before,no slight lurch, nothing.I had to double tap to make sure it was in gear.Any ideas? Is this due to the lack of chain drive in the primary?

I must not be getting something.Isn't the clunk from the tranny gears? How would better clutch action remove that?

If you have good plate separation you won't have the clunk. I only run 18oz of primary fluid so I don't have the parasitic drag. Kinda like a dry clutch.

The clunk is from the slack in the primary chain being removed in a tight snap.

When I was running the Hayden M6 (read: constant pressure on the chain), there was no clunk of shame.

That's my understanding also.. Lot of others think it's from the Tranny and not the Pri
