2015 has an updated front brake and master cylinder compared to 2014; 2016 has TBW implemented, 50mm throttle body instead of 46mm and 103" High Output meaning it has a couple of hp/tq more than previous models basically due to different cams.
Obviously I'd choose 2016...
yup as said above that is pretty much it mechanically speaking. also some different paint schemes with 2016. either year is a good bike.
another advantage is with the 2016 50mm TB, it also comes with larger 4.3 injectors- so if you re doing engine mods later it will support over 100hp with the 4.3 injectors whereas the 2015 3.9's need to be upgraded. Although we're only talking a couple hundred bucks to have the SE 4.9 injectors put onto a 2015.
So if I found a smoking deal on a 2015 I'd buy that over the 2016. IMO the minor upgrade in stock cams on the 2016 and the 50mm TB are not worth paying thousands more vs. a 2015. especially when you can upgrade that stuff (cams, tb, injectors, tuning device) for about $2k and it will be faster than the stock 2016.
Yep, TB is used for throttle body and tbw is throttle by wire which has been implemented on 2016 Softail lineup.
Basically the signal of accelerating and decel is electronic instead of being mechanical. Advantages should be a quicker throttle response and one flying cable less on right side of the bike.

no worries- you'll get over the intimidation factor soon enough- all of the same general principals that apply to sport bikes apply to HD's. it is basically just getting familiar with the system, parts etc. - if you are more familiar with traditional carbs and have never messed with efi, it can be a bit of a brain bender until you learn the principals. here is a very good read- it is a long doc but mostly pictures and not overly wordy.
if you go through this you'll have a good fundamental understanding of HD Delphi EFI, and terms like AFR ratio, VE tables, timing maps, lambda, etc. - which will help you in making the right choices for tuning / upgrading your bike. http://www530.pair.com/rowand/efibas...I%20Basics.pdf
