Not up to date on the issues with the clarity covers. I do know that this riser is made by Performance Machine and then sold under the RSD name. I know this because when I called RSD for specs on the riser they referred me to PM. The guy at PM confirmed they make them. PM is usually quality stuff from my experience. Hopefully I won't have any issues. I do know it holds tighter than the Joker Machine that it replaced.
