Went for a ride today with the missoula harley owners group and bikers against bullies awarness group. First time out after competing both cruising tune and richer tune. 12.8 to 13.2 left the richer tune in it. Wasn't planning on going last min thing. After doing some guesswork math at the pump was around 42 mpg 76 miles could only get 1.8 in the tank. I was stoked. Before the tuner had stage 1 ecm downloader got 35 at most if I was under 80 mph. Now got Andrews 26 cams off with auto tune and bassani road rage.
I have done a lot of work to my bike. Increased compression, cams, headwork, 54mm Throttlebody, 4.9 injectors. The bike has 118 HP and 118 torque and it averages 42 to 43 mpg unless I ride it really hard. As a Stage 2 with 92 HP it averaged 35 to 36 mpg. Don't make sense but I like it
I've got an 04 so originally no o2 sensors. Better tuning now with widebands. Stage 1 download too rich by a lot I guess. Just need to build it more I guess
Same here, cam, tuner, dyno, stage 2. It's that federal emission regulation on the stock setup holding it back. Scoot runs and the mpg is a tad above 40 unless I'm runnin it hard.
same here,, since I added the 26's and had the SERT tweaked, back in 09,, I always get between 41-44 (putting around)- 44-47 (on the road) ... Always a bit lower when I have to use Ethanol gas which is not very often here in our area...

Agreed with lower milage with E10. Non ethanol gas is readily available here and that's all I run. Had to use E10 for two refils on a road trip and noticed about 20 miles less per tank.
My 2008 Heritage, is stage one, with V&H fuel pak.
I do not ride hard, and always ride single.
Recent trip included one mountain pass
Filled the tank 6-times, I did an average of 47.3
This was all hwy. miles and almost never over the posted speed limits.
Not sure of the average mph, but I would guess 50, as I was on a freeway for only about 150-miles.
I installed a set of VIEDS on the 08 Custom and setting it around 40% I got 44.5 through the last tank. I might try 50% and see what it does for a tank too.
