250 will look wider than 260 on stock rim - 260 will make you sit higher and taller on stock rim too this is no good if you got short legs lol.
I'm not sure anyone even makes a true 260mm tire, if so, it wont work on a BO anyway... The Metzeler 260 is actually only 247mm wide, it fits great on the BO stock rim and fills up the fender nicely....but only leaves about 1/8" tire/belt clearance, so any tire over 250mm (actual size) would definitely rub the belt...

Actually I don't think a 260 adds noticeably to the height...at least not as much that it will mess up your leg reach completely if you could flat-foot with the stock tire. Plus if it does that will increase the ground clearance and lean which on that bike is of advantage.
Also I would not suggest to use a wider rim to allow for the tire to expand further in width due to the limited inside clearance of the fender.

Yep, that's perfectly right. Plus there's actually only very limited side clearance inside the fender due to the mounting brackets for the fender struts.
Depending on what people do inside the fender (e.g. led lighting) combined with lowering the rear and installing the ME260 it may become a tight fit in some cases not only with the belt.
OK, you win. Some of you guys pretty "detail oriented". My method was not as sophisticated.... But I measured 251mm. I was trying to be as careful as possible to get it right but it was 251mm. This is mounted on a stock Breakout rim. The difference could be explained by a difference in tire pressure between the bikes, we are talking only a few mm's. I posted on the Everything Breakout thread on my install. All I can say is the bike handles way better with the E3 vs. stock. I am talking it took me by surprise when I first got on. I am sure Metz and Avon are also very good.
