Y'all got me wondering about actual width. Metzeler 240 (stock size) I measured at about 249 (had to make a redneck caliper also). Also to add to piling on OEM tire, that is the slickest concrete boot for a tire and at 4800 miles it was on the wear bars. See how the Metz. wears. Stock the 'chicken stripe' was a good 1" away from the edge, now, it's within an 1/8". Now I have to work on the front

I think many of us are way too picky about a few millimeters here and there. Guess all that matters is handling and the E3 and Metz are both huge improvements over stock. Well worth the money.

Just a few days ago I saw a video on Youtube where someone fitted a Metzeler 280 with the stock swingarm...very tight fit but it worked obviously. He used an aftermarket rear fender though.

Well worth the savings, in my case. Dealer charges $C 385.00 for the OEM 240. My E3 250 was $C 205.00.

Yep. Its a 120 vs the OEM 130 if I'm not mistaken. I have one out in the garage waiting for my OEM front to wear out. Just too lazy to go look.

The only way to make a tire like that fit is to install the rear tire off angle to get enough clearance for the drive belt. This is possible since the swing-arm is rubber mounted which allows a lot of slop with regard to front tire to rear tire alignment. But running a bike like this seems like a really stupid idea (no offense to anyone). I know my Indie and my dealer would never install a tire like this. Way too much liability. My Dunlop E3 250 looks plenty beefy for me (and tracks really well).
