Default How do I read codes on Softail ?

Went for a short ride this morning, 100 miles or so.

After about 40 miles it started high idle (2500) even while moving in gear and at all stops. It did this for about 5 miles and cleared up.

Stopped for about 10 minutes and then it would not idle at all.
Slowly dropped to stopping.

How do I read codes on 2014 Fatboy ?

Buy a Powervision and check codes on there.... plus you can tune your bike whenever you modify something performance/engine wise.

Flip the "Stop/Run" switch to Run, then hold the Odometer selector then turn the ignition on. When the needles sweep release and you should see "STSSP" one the Odometer, hold the odometer selector switch for 5 seconds to select which system to display the codes on and 5 more seconds to clear the codes for the system. Use the odometer select switch to step through each page or each system.

Thanks guys.
I checked the codes: None

I run Ethanol free, high grade fuel.

I guess I will run another batch of Seafoam next.

High Idle generally indicates that the ECM thinks that the engine is cool and is getting it up to operating temp. Check the attached page from my service manual to see what I'm talking about.
